JOB PURPOSE

Build market position by identifying and locating new business opportunities. Develop these into successful sales through identifying, negotiating, and closing new business relationships. Strategically market the business and sell to new and existing clients.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

BCom in Business Administration/MarketingPostgraduate qualification in Marketing 2+ years Experience in Solar Power, Manufacturing, or Engineering sectors

  • Skills: Negotiation, sales, marketing methods, planning, MS Office suite
  • Knowledge: Contractual agreements, identification of customer needs, solar power industry, professional standards
  • Characteristics: Perseverance, client-focused, proactive, strategic thinking, entrepreneurial mindset, strong communication skills

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPA) & DUTIES

Commercial

  • Identify profitable business opportunities within company guidelines
  • Ensure high-quality leads for development teams
  • Conduct ongoing market research and provide key market insights
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, distributors, partners, and vendors
  • Evaluate existing partnerships and sales efforts to optimize outcomes
  • Develop pricing and market strategies
  • Close deals efficiently and with urgency
  • Form partnerships with industry stakeholders
  • Foster positive working relationships across all departments
  • Apply creative, out-of-the-box thinking to deal making and deal closure

Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

  • Pipeline size aligned to annual targets, with success rate vs. pipeline size ratio
  • Typical size of projects closed within company guidelines
  • Sales targets achieved
  • Success rate of targeted opportunities (50%+ target)
  • Creativity in deal making and deal closure
  • High regard from colleagues

Project Development

  • Prepare and develop accurate preliminary designs on Helioscope
  • Provide development team with key insights
  • Assist development team with tender submissions as required

Stakeholder & Market Relationship Management

  • Manage and foster positive client relationships
  • Continuously build new client relationships
