Job Objectives:
  • Lead the Centurion DCs financial performance by managing profit and loss, budgeting, and cost control to ensure sustainable business growth and shareholder value.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through on-time, in-full, and quality deliveries to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Optimise the logistics network by balancing availability, cost, and inventory to enable a responsive, integrated supply chain.
  • Drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement through innovation and process enhancement to improve execution and reduce risk.
  • Identify and implement business opportunities that create competitive advantage and profit growth in support of strategic objectives.
  • Build strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders through cross-functional collaboration aligned with logistics and business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Develop high-performing, diverse teams by building competence and capacity, and fostering a culture of growth and inclusion.
  • Achieve shrinkage and wastage targets through effective controls and accountability to support financial performance.
  • Maintain and uphold SHEQ standards, ensuring full compliance with all regulatory and internal requirements.
Experience
  • 5-8 years in a senior leadership role within logistics or operations, preferably in retail distribution.Proven management experience of a large-scale site 
  • (±44,000 m²) with high-volume throughput.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on operational logistics experience.
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams in a unionized environment.
  • Strong background in warehouse management within retail distribution.
  • Track record of WMS implementation or rollout, including change management and system integration.
  • Experience in complex fine picking operations focused on accuracy and speed.
  • Experience in digital transformation and operational optimisation, including automation, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • A 3-year Bachelors Degree (NQF Level 7 or higher) in one of the following fields:
  • Logistics
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Operations Management
  • Industrial Engineering
