Transport and Operations Manager
About the job Transport and Operations Manager
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Logistics Qualification an advantage
- 5 years experience in logistics field and 2 years management experience
- Computer literate
Knowledge:
- Company Standard Operating Procedures pertaining to the operation
- Customer requirements including cut off times and KPIs
- HR and IR regulations, policies, processes and procedures
- Internal and external services pertaining to the operation
- Company IT systems, their role and how they work as well as client IT systems where relevant
- Packaging standards and requirement for warehousing and distribution purposes
- Occupational Health and Safety Act 1993 and the requirements thereof
- ISO 9001 standard
- Use of equipment and maintenance costs
Responsibilities:
- Leads, empowers and develops the transport team.
- Safely and effectively manages its people, fleet, 3PL providers, budget, IT and other resources in a sustainable and profitable way as to grow the department.
- Identifies risks, issues and opportunities and deploys innovative solutions and techniques in response to improving logistics delivery and expected outcomes.
