CONTRACT ROLE
Description: We are seeking a seasoned Technical Programme Manager with extensive experience in managing data migration projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical environments, particularly in data management, transformation, and migration. This role requires a proactive leader who can effectively coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project timelines and budgets, and ensure successful delivery of complex data migration initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of data migration projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, including data owners, IT teams, and business units.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, milestones, and dependencies.
- Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams to execute data migration activities, including data cleansing, mapping, transformation, and validation.
- Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies that may impact project delivery or quality.
- Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to project management best practices, standards, and methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with technical teams to design and implement data migration strategies, tools, and solutions.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project or programme management, with a focus on data migration projects.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale data migration initiatives in technical environments.
- Strong understanding of data management principles, practices, and technologies, including ETL processes, data warehousing, and data governance.
- Experience with data migration tools and platforms, such as Informatica, Talend, or SAP Data Services.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, results-oriented approach to project delivery.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
