Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Code EC driver's license with valid PDP
  • Proven experience as a driving instructor.
  • Clear driving record.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Excellent verbal and written
  • Operating rigid light vehicle unit standard
  • Dangerous goods unit standard
  • Warehouse lifting equipment unit standard
  • Firefighting unit standard

Responsibilities: 

  • Assess new and existing drivers.
  • Conduct training sessions (soft skills and lifting equipment) according to the drawn schedules.
  • Ensure that training schedules for both soft skills and lifting equipment are communicated to the managers and are adhered to.
  • Training and assessing all DTA facilitated and accredited courses through theoretical and practical training.
  • Conduct coaching sessions with drivers to improve competency.
  • Conduct driver-on-route assessments.
  • Ensure that the driver's license and PrDP are up-to-date and valid.
  • Ensure that the attendance registers are filled and filed correctly
  • Keep the driver files up to date on the learner management system. ( SHEQx)
  • Provide feedback to all stakeholders regarding driver assessments conducted.
  • Capture and update data on the internal systems. ( SHEQx)
  • Facilitate training interventions linked to TETA Scope.
  • Assess learners fairly, consistently, and accurately according to TETA requirements.
  • Use understandable language and provide support where needed.
  • Conduct a site audit and route inspection to ensure vehicles are up to standard and assist with vehicle dispatching.
  • Assist in relevant operations/operational functions as required.
  • Complete accredited training material according to TETA regulations.
  • Do internal moderation.
  • Maintain professional conduct.
  • Ensure the dress code is according to company Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards daily.
  • Ensure standards of Health and Safety are maintained.
  • Capture and share all training done with the DTA training administrator.
  • Report all concerns / Risks to the DTA manager.
  • It's your responsibility to make sure your accreditation for Assessor and Moderators is up to date.
