Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Data Analytics or a related field (essential)
  • +4 years experience in a similar capacity or role, with proven success working with FMCG, retail, or ecommerce brands, category insights to shape and inform business decision-making pertaining to strategic sourcing, and product positioning (essential).
  • Experience working with large data sets, distilling it down and shaping it in a way that delivers actionable insights and derives value (essential)
  • Strong analytical skills in gathering, analysing, interpreting, and communicating complex business recommendations and data insights into well-packaged and visually appealing presentations (essential)
  • Experience working with e-commerce platforms and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar (essential)
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines (beneficial)
  • Knowledge of online shopping trends and technologies (beneficial)
Responsibilities:

  • The purpose of the Category Insights Manager: Digital Commerce is to improve customer satisfaction and drive sales through a customer-centric, data-driven approach that supports decision-making process concerning product categories, ranging gaps and opportunities. 
  • This includes analysing online customer behavior, purchasing patterns, and market trends within specific product categories to identify trends, opportunities, and gaps in the market as well as in store ranging. 
  • By translating insights into actionable recommendations, the Category Insights Manager empowers cross-functional teams to make informed decisions on product placements, marketing strategies, pricing, and promotions. 
  • The role involves collaboration with internal teams, third-party vendors, and effective communication with key stakeholders. 
  • Additionally, the manager plays a critical role in promotional planning, store range analysis, and providing detailed analyses to improve sales.
