Job Description:
Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Project Engineer to join our team on a contract basis in Rwanda. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and executing EC&I projects within the oil and gas industry, ensuring that all project objectives are met safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage EC&I projects from conception through to completion.
- Ensure project deliverables meet technical specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed to meet project milestones.
- Engineering and Design:
- Develop detailed engineering designs and specifications for electrical, control, and instrumentation systems.
- Review and approve technical drawings, schematics, and documentation.
- Conduct technical analysis and troubleshooting of EC&I systems.
- Installation and Commissioning:
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of EC&I systems.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement and manage quality assurance procedures to ensure high standards of workmanship.
- Conduct inspections and tests to verify the functionality and reliability of EC&I systems.
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, contractors, and clients.
- Conduct technical training and workshops as needed.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, technical reports, and project plans.
- Present project updates to stakeholders and management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in EC&I engineering, with a focus on the oil and gas industry.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale EC&I projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in engineering design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, MATLAB).
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, IEEE, API).
- Experience with PLC/DCS systems, SCADA, HMI, and field instrumentation.
- Certifications:
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CEng) are an advantage.
