Minimum Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong problem-solving techniques

  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (database experience preferred)

  • High-level organizational skills, including filing and indexing

  • Experience in compiling management data and reports

Experience Required
  • Minimum 5 years experience in injection moulding machine setting and optimization
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience

  • Previous experience in a plastics manufacturing environment

Key Responsibilities
Production Management
  • Coordinate and manage all production staff

  • Hold weekly meetings with injection moulding machine setters for problem-solving and information sharing

  • Promote quality achievement and continuous performance improvement throughout the organization

  • Set production objectives and ensure targets are achieved (e.g. scrap %, absenteeism %, cycle time standards)

  • Maintain awareness of business context and company profitability, including budgetary control

  • Ensure timely manufacturing of products that meet customer quality and delivery requirements

  • Manage the setting of all injection moulding machines and any ancillary equipment

  • Schedule production across the plant for optimal equipment use

  • Ensure all raw materials are ordered in a timely manner

Documentation and Compliance
  • Ensure adequacy and compliance with production work instructions, including:

    • Production Process Flow Charts

    • Setting Sheets

    • Inspection Instructions

    • Job Cards

    • Packaging and Transport details

  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the facility

  • Conduct periodic formal reviews to verify production activities align with procedures and work instructions

  • Review customer releases and formulate production plans accordingly

  • Assist in cross-functional audits per ISO 9001:2015 and the internal audit plan

  • Ensure departmental compliance with the Management Policy Document and procedures

Process Improvement and Quality Assurance
  • Identify and implement process, tooling, and equipment improvements

  • Review non-conforming products with the quality department and implement corrective actions

  • Drive staff collaboration to develop and implement comprehensive quality procedures

  • Persuade staff to adopt quality-driven work methods

  • Ensure testing and procedures are correctly understood, performed, and evaluated

  • Support value-added functions and process improvements across The Company

Staff Development and Supervision
  • Identify training needs of personnel under supervision

  • Conduct and implement training as needed

  • Provide assistance to the Stores Controller as necessary (e.g. material staging, stocktaking)

  • Assume full control in the absence of the General Manager

  • Ensure achievement of agreed KPIs for self and subordinates

  • Monitor performance through data collection and produce statistical reports as required
