Business Unit Director 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree in Science / Medicine and/or Business
  • 15+ years of sales and marketing experience with successful track record of growth.
  • 7+ years experience with BU leadership > 30 people
  • Strong P and L Management experience, including disposables, equipment & consignment.
  • International experience and cross-border roles
  • Demonstrated skill in delivering on all aspects of a P and L (sales, operating expenses, net income). 
  • Business and financial acumen, as well as a strategic mindset as evidenced of leading organizations to achieve results in challenging, complex business environments (not just growing markets).
  • Strong customer/external orientation with experience working directly with governmental and other external agencies to influence healthcare policy and develop value-generating solutions
  • Unquestioned ethics, integrity, and Credo-based leadership as shown by establishing and championing a culture of strong healthcare compliance
  • Experience leading multiple business challenges: new businesses, turnaround business, realignment, sustain the success models
  • Experience with different go-to-market models (direct, undirect)
  • Diverse experience in different business units - Geographies or functions
  • Driving strategic change to meet changing business needs, inclusive of mobilizing teams and driving high-performance culture
  • Deep organizational leadership, with an ability to inspire and mobilize and organization through periods of continuous change and transformation
  • Developing a diverse pipeline of successful leaders through coaching and mentoring.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on business objectives through the development of a winning plan for the Company Business Unit.
  • Implementation of Company strategies and translating them into specific local business objectives.
  • Plan Country sales targets and phasing, ensure sales targets delivered and follow up progresses
  • Building and driving strong and consistent marketing strategy for key products based on agreed roadmap
  • Focus on creating strong Marketing Plans followed by execution
  • Lead new product launches/marketing programs and drive execution aligned with marketing plan and EMEA strategy
  • Ensuring effective communication of business strategies and tactics to the relevant sales team
  • Meeting all relevant Gross Profit and Opex targets and reaching other relevant business indicators (P&L Management)
  • Management of Sales teams activity to achieve sales objectives and greater market penetration.
  • People development, talent pipeline enrichment
  • Team coaching and reviewing performance on an ongoing basis
  • Close partnership with EMEA COEs / Franchise and local teams (ProfEd, KAM, HEMA, Support Functions) to accelerate market penetration and improve patient care services
  • Establishing and maintaining top-level contacts 
  • Ensures all BU activities are in compliance with all local and company regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Interviews, hires, trains and evaluates the performance of BU managers/director positions.
  • Administers promotions and incentives and provides motivation as needed.
  • Works with members of the regional Franchise team to improve product and company performance.
  • Develop successors through setting specific development plans
  • Reinforce and leverage diversity and inclusion in the workplace to drive innovation and strong business results
  • Lead, shape and direct all aspects of the Business unit (Sales and marketing) by defining the strategic objectives in close alignment with the General Manager
  • Lead and deliver P&L results for the businesses. 
  • Directly lead a group of senior Managers responsible for growing sales.
  • Shape the external environment by deploying deep customer and competitor insights. 
  • Leverage market insights and strategic/commercial capabilities to create new commercial models and innovative solutions that drive growth and optimize shareholder value.
  • Design and implement the short-, medium-, and long-term strategy. 
  • Lead a team to create, an impactful, agile, and customer-focused organization. Develop a robust pipeline of diverse leaders with skills to succeed in a complex, dynamic marketplace. 
  • Champion initiatives to promote an inclusive workplace environment and a highly engaged workforce.
  • Partner with Shared Services functions within the cluster, ensuring effective integration across the business. 
  • Ensure healthcare compliance and ethical/integrity principles are championed and actively practiced.
  • Partner with colleagues in other Company segments and different parts of EMEA on projects that shape the wider footprint across the region.
