Introduction

We are currently looking for a solution-oriented Operations Manager to oversee our Inbound Departments (Receiving, returns and machinery) in  Gauteng. The Inbound Operations manager will be responsible for ensuring effective management of receiving, machinery, and returns departments to achieve business objectives.

Job Description

  • To ensure achievement of budgeted and agreed financial targets for all inbound departments.
  • To ensure effective utilisation of all people resources to drive productivity to targets.
  • To control and ensure accountability for damage and poor maintenance of company assets (scanners, machines, racking, etc)
  • To analyse, interpret and report business information
  • To facilitate improvement processes and improved financial performance for inbound departments.
  • To engage, network and communicate with internal and externa stakeholders (vendors, stores, and suppliers) to ensure swift queries resolution and ensure improved business performance.
  • To deliver service to stores through accurate, on time deliveries, minimal damages, and effective communication.
  • To monitor and maintain adherence to safety procedures, co-ordinate and manage emergencies ensuring a safe working environment.
  • To lead and direct the Department Managers to achieve consistent process compliance and adherence to all relevant company SOPs, cut-offs times, and daily reports.
  • To ensure service providers adhere to service level agreements through regular meetings to ensure accountability, performance management, monitor control measures and costs approvals.
  • To manage HR management component of the department including performance management, talent retention and management, disciplinary action, and employee wellness.
  • To live and instil values.

Experience

  • Essential: 5 years experience in logistics at middle management level, managing stakeholders (labour brokers, transporters, vendors, etc
  • 3-5 inbound/outbound management distribution centre/retail experience
  • 3 Financial Management/Cost control
  • 5 People management
  • 5 experiences in customer service

Knowledge

  • Technical and system knowledge supply chain/logistics applications and processes
  • Experience in implementing and managing complex picking systems and supporting such systems.
  • Conceptualizing solutions for Business demand
  • Health and safety

Skills

  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer Literacy
  • Systems knowledge SAP, RTF, AS400
  • Ability to work with business stakeholders and translate requirements into achievable process/IT solutions.
  • Ability to conceptualize and lead the design and implementation of complex systems.
  • Ability to solve complex business & technical problems.
