Field Service Technician
Key Accountabilities
-
Apply electrical, electronic, basic hydraulic, and mechanical theory and related knowledge to test and modify operational machinery, circuits, and components.

Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul port equipment such as Ship-to-Shore Cranes, Rubber-Tired Gantry Cranes, and Rail-Mounted Gantry Cranes.

Keep detailed records of activities, repairs, and issues, reporting equipment status and performance to line management.

Complete required paperwork including timesheets, work reports, and expense reports.

Care for and maintain company tools, machines, and equipment.
Primary Responsibilities

Provide on-site support for planned and emergency repairs.

Operate machinery for inspection, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.

Set a positive example in punctuality, professionalism, and adherence to safety regulations.

Test products and equipment after repair to ensure compliance with specifications.

Repair and replace damaged or worn parts using OEM spares.

Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of The Company machines.

Read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.

Overhaul and test machines for operating efficiency and safety.

Mentor and train other team members when required.

Promote a safe working environment and follow all established procedures.

Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation for all field service equipment.

Support administrative and back-office tasks as needed.
Education & Experience

Minimum Qualification: Matric / NQF4
-
Experience: 1-2 years minimum; 3-4 years related experience preferred (or equivalent combination of education and training).
