Position Overview

The Supply Chain & Procurement Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end supply chain functions including demand & supply planning, procurement, logistics, warehousing, and inventory management. This role ensures material availability, cost efficiency, supplier compliance, and smooth operational flow across the organization. The manager also provides strategic reporting and recommendations to top management.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Supply Chain Management

  • Lead overall supply chain operations from planning, sourcing, inventory control, logistics, and distribution.
  • Ensure timely availability of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods to support production and business needs.
  • Set optimal inventory levels (min-max) and monitor stock movement to reduce shortages, wastage, and overstocking.
  • Improve operational efficiency through system enhancements, process optimization, and data analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, QA, Halal, Sales, and Finance teams for alignment.

B. Procurement Management

  • Manage sourcing activities including market research, supplier selection, contract negotiation, and purchasing decisions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure stability, quality, and cost competitiveness.
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews and audits in collaboration with QA & Halal teams.
  • Monitor market price trends and implement cost control strategies.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with SOP, Halal, QA, and financial guidelines.

C. Cost & Budget Control

  • Lead cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or compliance.
  • Prepare and manage annual procurement and supply chain budgets.
  • Monitor logistics, warehousing, and purchasing expenses to ensure cost effectiveness.

D. Logistics & Distribution

  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, delivery scheduling, and transportation planning.
  • Manage third-party logistics (3PL) providers and monitor their service levels (SLA).
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation such as delivery orders, invoices, import/export documents.

E. Inventory & Warehouse Management

  • Oversees warehouse operations (3rd party), enforce FIFO/FEFO, and ensure stock accuracy.
  • Conduct monthly stock counts and investigate variances.
  • Implement warehouse SOPs aligned with food safety and Halal requirements.

F. Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, food safety standards, Halal guidelines, and audit requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing complete, accurate documentation and action plans.

G. Team Leadership

  • Lead, guide, and develop the supply chain and procurement team.
  • Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and ensure high team productivity.
  • Foster a continuous improvement culture within the department.

Reporting to Top Management

A. Strategic Reporting

  • Provide updates on supply chain performance, procurement strategies, cost trends, and key risks.
  • Present long-term improvement plans, supplier strategies, and business impact analysis.
  • Highlight issues requiring management decision or approval.

B. Monthly Management Reporting

Prepare and present reports including:

  • Inventory status & ageing
  • Procurement spend vs budget
  • Cost-saving initiatives
  • OTIF (On-Time In-Full) performance
  • Supplier performance scorecard
  • Logistics & warehouse performance
  • Major incidents or disruptions and corrective actions

C. Decision Support

  • Provide data-driven insights for management decisions on supplier approval, pricing, materials planning, outsourcing, and NPD readiness.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 58 years of experience in supply chain or procurement; F&B or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of Halal requirements, food safety, and compliance (for F&B industry).
  • Proficiency in planning systems, ERP, and data reporting tools.
