Position Title: Settlement Officer
Work Set-up: Work From Office/Work From Home/Hybrid
Schedule: 7:00am – 4:00pm
Salary Range: Starts at Php 45,000 (Depending on experience)
We are seeking a skilled Settlement Officer who has significant experience in managing the settlement process for home loans, including reviewing trust and self-employed borrower files. This role requires proficiency in Broker Engine, not only for notetaking but also for accurately updating loan details, account information, and generating reports. The Settlement Officer will work closely with clients, brokers, and conveyancers to ensure smooth settlements and timely delivery of necessary documentation.
Responsibilities as a Settlement Officer:
Settlement Processing: Manage the end-to-end processing of home loan settlements, ensuring all documentation (including complex trust and self-employed borrower files) is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory and lender requirements.
Broker Engine Management:
o Accurately update Broker Engine to reflect the correct loan details, account information, and client-nominated details.
o Ensure all loan information is up-to-date and accurately captured within the system to support seamless communication with brokers and other stakeholders.
o Generate settlement-related reports from Broker Engine, ensuring these are issued to clients and their conveyancers promptly.
o Leave clear, actionable notes within Broker Engine to provide ongoing updates and communicate effectively with brokers and other team members.
Client Communication: Provide ongoing communication with clients, brokers, solicitors, and other parties to keep all stakeholders informed of settlement progress and handle any queries or issues that arise during the process.
Documentation Review: Review of all loan documents, including contracts, deeds, and settlement statements, ensuring the accuracy of trust structures and financial data for self-employed borrowers.
Coordination with Third Parties: Coordinate with solicitors, conveyancers, outgoing banks, and other external parties to ensure settlements are scheduled, and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise.
Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all settlements comply with Australian financial regulations (e.g., NCCP, ASIC) and meet lender-specific requirements.
Problem Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve settlement issues, especially those related to trust and self-employed borrowers, and ensure clear communication of solutions to all parties involved.
Post-Settlement Follow-Up: Assist with post-settlement procedures, including fund disbursement, account closures, and filing of required documents.
Reporting & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all settlements, loan transactions, and communications. Generate regular status reports for management and clients.
Qualifications as a Settlement Officer:
Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in home loan settlements, with a solid
background in handling trust and self-employed borrower files.
Broker Engine Experience: Proven experience using Broker Engine to accurately
update loan details, track applications, and generate reports. Ability to update
account information and ensure data integrity within the system.
Knowledge of Australian Mortgage Laws: A strong understanding of Australian
property and mortgage law, particularly in relation to self-employed borrowers and
trusts.
Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, especially when reviewing
complex trust and self-employed borrower files.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable
of explaining complex settlement processes to clients, brokers, and external parties.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple settlements
and meet tight deadlines.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to resolve issues in the settlement process,
particularly in trust and self-employed files, and provide effective solutions.
Team Player: Able to work collaboratively with internal teams, brokers, and external
parties to ensure timely and accurate settlements
