Senior Structural Technician

 Job Description:

We are working closely with a local authority in North Yorkshire to assist with the appointment of a Senior Structural Technician, on a 2.5-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £34.00- £43.14 per hour

Summary:

The Senior Structural Technician will be responsible for producing, coordinating and supervising structural 3D BIM models and 2D technical drawings using Revit and AutoCAD across a range of building projects. The role will support Structural Engineers throughout the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept design through to detailed design, construction and handover.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate and detailed Revit models and AutoCAD drawings for structural projects.
  • Develop structural drawings and models from engineers' marked-up sketches and design information.
  • Produce drawings throughout the various RIBA project stages, from briefing and concept through to technical detailed design.
  • Prepare preliminary structural drawings suitable for supporting outline cost estimates.

Qualifications:

  • HND or HNC in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or an equivalent relevant qualification.
  • At least 5 years' structural detailing experience within an engineering design consultancy.

Essentials:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in structural detailing within an engineering design consultancy.
  • Proven experience working on new building designs and refurbishment projects.
  • Strong experience using Revit and AutoCAD to produce detailed technical models and drawings.
  • Experience working through RIBA staged project delivery, from feasibility and concept through to detailed technical design.
