Family Support Worker

 Job Description:

We are working closely with Birmingham Children's Trust in to assist with the appointment of a Family Support Worker, on a 1-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £15.34- £19.96 per hour

Summary:

The Higher Level Family Support Worker is a vital role within Birmingham Children's Trust, dedicated to making a positive difference for children, young people, and families. Operating within a multi-disciplinary safeguarding service, you will use professional knowledge to provide timely interventions and lead multi-agency plans. You will act as a "champion" in specific practice areas—such as domestic violence or substance misuse—providing expert advice and workshops to the wider team to drive high standards of practice and achieve positive family outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the lead professional for an allocated caseload of children and families with identified needs.
  • Use common assessments to identify family needs and develop effective multi-agency support plans.
  • Serve as a Designated Safeguarding Professional (DSP) within the service.
  • Engage in audit processes and collect performance management information to ensure service quality.

Essentials:

  • Must possess the professional knowledge and skills required to work within established safeguarding guidelines.
  • Substantial experience working in partnership with children, young people, and families to effect positive change.
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary and professional integrated family support or safeguarding environment.
  • Experience or advanced knowledge in specific practice areas such as domestic violence, substance misuse, or parenting programs.

  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
