Project Support Officer
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Islington to assist with the appointment of a Project Support Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £150.00 - £199.00 per day
Summary:
The Project Support Officer will play a key role in supporting the successful deployment and adoption of a new finance system and other project-related activities. This graduate-level position is ideal for candidates with an interest in project management who are seeking to build their skills in a dynamic local authority environment. The postholder will provide day-to-day support to the Programme Manager and project team, including maintaining trackers, monitoring progress, and liaising with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day administrative and project support to the Programme Manager and wider project team.
- Monitor programme trackers, update progress reports, and follow up with stakeholders on outstanding tasks.
- Support planning, coordination, and delivery of project activities to ensure milestones are met.
- Assist in preparing documentation, presentations, and communications for internal and external stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively across teams, building positive relationships with colleagues, partners, and senior stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Experience of working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including senior managers.
- Experience in administrative, clerical, or project support roles is advantageous.
- Familiarity with project management processes and tools (desirable but not essential for entry level).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workload, manage competing deadlines, and work independently as well as in a team.
