We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Nottinghamshire to assist with the appointment of a Chef, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £15.50 - £20.25 per hour

Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Chef to manage all catering services within a children's residential setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for children, young people, staff, and visitors while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals in accordance with agreed menus and dietary requirements.
• Order food supplies and manage stock within the allocated budget.
• Monitor food quality, presentation, portion sizes, and meal service.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness in line with food safety regulations.
• Check deliveries for quality and quantity, reporting any issues with suppliers.

Essentials:

• Previous experience working as a Chef or Cook in a professional catering environment.
• Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above).
• Knowledge of food safety legislation, COSHH, and Health & Safety regulations.
• Experience planning menus and managing food budgets.
• Ability to cater for a range of dietary requirements.
