Social Worker

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Nottingham to assist with the appointment of a Social Worker, on a 2-months contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £18.60- £25.50 per hour

Summary:

As an Experienced Social Worker, you will be responsible for assessing individual needs and coordinating tailored outcomes that promote independence, well-being, and personal choice. You will use a strength-based, rights-focused approach to enable individuals to manage their needs and risks while ensuring high-quality support. The role also involves undertaking safeguarding duties, contributing to service development, and mentoring less experienced staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and provide access to Reablement and enablement services.
  • Undertake safeguarding work and contribute to protection strategies.
  • Fulfill statutory roles such as AMHP, BIA, or Practice Educator if trained.
  • Monitor service delivery to ensure well-being-focused outcomes.
  • Manage complex workloads including assessment, support planning, and review.

Experience:

  • Minimum two years of post-qualification experience in complex social work settings.
  • Experience working collaboratively within teams and multidisciplinary environments.
  • Experience in safeguarding, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • Experience as a Safeguarding Enquiry Officer is desirable.

Qualifications:

  • Recognised Social Work qualification registered with Social Work England.
  • Additional qualifications (e.g., BSL, blind/deaf support) are desirable.
  • Postgraduate study or post-qualifying awards preferred.

Essentials:

  • Full driving licence and access to transport (reasonable adjustments for disability).
  • Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Proven ability to manage high-risk cases independently.

Additional Role Dimensions:

  • Contribute to discharge planning and safeguarding investigations.
  • Perform urgent assessments in multi-disciplinary environments.
  • Apply current policies and risk assessment procedures in casework.
