Placement Officer
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Bromley to assist with the appointment of a Placement Officer, on a 5-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £18.51 - £24.25 per hour
Hours Per Week: 22.00
Summary:
The Placement Officer will support Adult Social Care services by facilitating timely and appropriate placements and support packages for service users. The role focuses on matching service user needs to the most suitable and best-value providers, negotiating service agreements, and ensuring all activity complies with local authority standards, legislation, and best practice. The position sits within the Safeguarding and Provider Relations division and plays a critical role in supporting vulnerable individuals across the borough.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and assess referrals from Social Care, identifying best-value care placements based on needs and outcomes.
- Recommend suitable placement options to referrers and verify provider suitability.
- Liaise with finance to initiate service changes and financial assessments.
- Negotiate placement and support package costs to ensure value for money.
- Visit providers to assess suitability and provide feedback to colleagues.
- Collaborate with social workers and agencies to contribute to care planning.
- Participate in duty rota, managing emergency placements and ensuring continuity.
Qualification:
- Educated to a high level A levels as a minimum
Required Experience:
- Experience in a customer-focused environment and administrative roles.
- Negotiation experience, ideally in a contracts or care provision context.

- You should have right to work in U.K
- This role requires a Basic DBS
