We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Bromley to assist with the appointment of an Licensing Officer, on a 7-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £27.14 - £35.83 per hour

Summary:

The Licensing Officer is responsible for administering, inspecting, investigating, and enforcing licensing legislation across a range of domains. This role provides expert advice to councillors, residents, businesses, and partner agencies and plays a key part in promoting compliance and upholding licensing objectives within the borough.

Responsibilities:

• Process and support a broad range of licensing applications.
  
• Conduct inspections of licensed premises to ensure legal compliance.
• Investigate complaints and service requests, enforcing corrective actions as needed.
  
• Provide expert advice on licensing law and Council policies to stakeholders.
• Evaluate licence applications and prepare written representations.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Environmental Health.
• Certificate of Higher Education in Licensing Law.
• Relevant professional qualifications related to licensing or environmental health.

Experience:

• Practical experience in applying licensing or environmental health legislation.
• Experience within a local government setting (desirable).

Requirements:

• Driving Licence.
