Decant Officer
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Haringey to assist with the appointment of a Decant Officer, on a 2.5-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £17.00 - £22.43 per hour
Summary:
The Decant Officer works within the Tenancy Management Team, collaborating with the Property Services Department and Lettings Team to manage both temporary and permanent decants. The role ensures the smooth start and end of tenancies, coordinates all aspects of the moving process, and serves as the main point of contact for residents undergoing a decant. This position demands strong customer service, organisation, and the ability to work across departments to deliver efficient and resident-focused service.
Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of the decant process, arranging viewings, moves, signing of licenses, and liaising with residents.
- Maintain consistent communication with residents throughout the decant, including regular check-ins.
- Work closely with the Disrepair, Voids, and Repairs teams through weekly meetings to track property readiness.
- Liaise with contractors for decant-related services (e.g., removals, deep cleans, purchasing essential items).
- Prioritise void properties for decants before general lettings allocation.
- Regularly update and manage the Decant Spreadsheet and report to the bi-weekly Decant Panel.
Qualifications:
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience (Essential)
- Housing qualification and evidence of continued professional development (Desirable)
Experience:
- Proven experience in delivering excellent customer service
- Experience managing complex workloads and meeting performance targets.
- Experience working collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Experience in tenancy management or similar housing role
Please note:
- You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
- You should have right to work in U.K
- This role requires a Standard DBS
