Park Ranger
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Newport to assist with the appointment of a Park Ranger, on a 1-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £12.24 - £15.52 per hour
Summary:
The Park Ranger (Static) plays a crucial role in the day-to-day safety, cleanliness, and overall operation of Newports parks and leisure spaces. Working on a rota basis, the role is responsible for conducting safety inspections, opening and closing facilities, and engaging with park users to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all. The ranger will ensure compliance with relevant safety standards, particularly EN1176, related to playground equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain security of buildings and associated areas.
- Conduct daily risk assessments and inspections of play areas in accordance with European Safety Standard EN1176.
- Keep accurate written records of all inspections and maintenance.
- Ensure cleanliness across park facilities, including before and after events.
- Promote positive behaviour among visitors and resolve minor conflicts as needed.
Requirements:
- Good general level of education.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety in playground environments.
- Experience handling cash and issuing receipts.
- Proven record-keeping ability.
- Physically fit and able to meet the demands of the role.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as required.
