Social Values Coordinator
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Islington to assist with the appointment of a Social Values Coordinator, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £22.49 - £30.06 per hour
Summary:
Islington Council is seeking a proactive and strategic Social Value Coordinator to drive and oversee the integration of social value initiatives across procurement and contract processes. This role will lead efforts to generate meaningful community benefits from public sector spending, working in close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will support the councils commitment to fostering community wealth and social responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage implementation of social value (SV) initiatives across all procurement activity, ensuring a 20% SV weighting in contracts.
- Support commissioning officers from project conception to delivery to ensure SV goals are embedded at all stages.
- Ensure contract clauses related to SV are well-defined, measurable, and effectively implemented.
- Collaborate with procurement teams and the internal SV operations group to maintain alignment and standardize SV language across documents.
- Develop innovative SV opportunities within five core SV themes, enhancing community outcomes.
Qualifications:
- A relevant qualification (RQF Level 3 or above) in social value, procurement, business studies, economics, or related field; or significant equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Proven experience delivering business development or community-focused programs, particularly for VCSEs and SMEs.

- This role requires a Basic DBS
