Parent and Family Worker

 Job Description:

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Nottinghamshire to assist with the appointment of a Parent and Family Worker, on a 2.5-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £14.58 - £19.47 per Hour

Summary:

To carry out specialist assessments and deliver structured parenting interventions for children and young people on the neurodevelopmental assessment pathway, specifically focusing on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The role involves working with families across multiple settings and contributing to multi-agency service delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake structured assessments of children and young people referred for neurodevelopmental evaluation.
  • Conduct home visits and observations in various settings (e.g., family homes, schools, nurseries) to support comprehensive assessments.
  • Deliver evidence-based parenting interventions tailored to neurodiverse children and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records, running logs, and data entries as per service protocols.
  • Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, planning forums, and case reviews.

Qualifications:

  • 5 GCSEs (A*C) or equivalent, including English.

Requirements:

  • Sound understanding of child development, parenting, attachment theory, and neurodiversity.
  • Full UK driving licence (unless exempt under DDA).

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years' experience working with children, young people, and families.
  • Proven experience in delivering structured parenting programmes or group work.
  • Experience in assessment work, ideally including neurodevelopmental or parenting assessments.
  • Experience managing challenging behaviour and complex family dynamics.
