Senior Parent Support Advisor
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Enfield to assist with the appointment of a Senior Parent Support Advisor, on a 2.5-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £20.28 - £25.01 per hour
Summary:
The purpose of this post is to provide a holistic assessment of families and offer single or multi-agency coordinated packages of support. The Senior Parent Support Advisor will empower families to identify and tackle challenging behaviours, reduce negative family relationships, securing a positive pathway for improvement, with particular emphasis upon increasing educational attendance and attainment.
Responsibilities:
- To carry a complex caseload and key work with families who are referred for support taking on the lead professional role to coordinate a multi-agency whole family approach to address difficulties
- To undertake whole family assessments ensuring a high standard of service to families, including securing the services of other agencies.
- To review action plans regularly and coordinate activity to ensure agreed tasks are identified and goals reached in a timely manner.
- To ensure that the service provide is delivered at times that suit and meet the needs of the families e.g. early mornings, late evenings and weekends.
- To work in partnership with social workers in order to effectively step down cases to the Parent Support Service thus reducing social care case loads
Qualifications:
- NVQ level 3 or above or equivalent qualification
Knowledge and Experience:
- Knowledge of early help and integrated processes
- Knowledge of the parenting issues and vulnerabilities ·
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection legislation.
- To have a minimum of 2 years experience of direct work with children young people and their families in the family home or in the community.
- Experience of working effectively in co-operation and partnership with a range of communities, partner agencies, private sector bodies, public agencies, voluntary bodies and statutory agencies appropriate to the service area.
- Proven ability to work with young people, adults and families who have multiple and complex needs with the ability to complete family assessments and draw up and review contracts and intervention strategies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work assertively to achieve sustainable and positive change. Including negotiation and problem solving in a multi-disciplinary setting
