Business Support Officer
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Bromley to assist with the appointment of a Business Support Officer, on a 10-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £13.91 - £18.00 per hour
Summary:
The Business Support Officer provides a key administrative and organisational role within Bromley Councils Compliance & Strategy service. The role ensures efficient and confidential handling of correspondence, data entry, and administrative support across multiple teams. The postholder is responsible for maintaining high standards of record-keeping, communication, and customer service to ensure the smooth running of departmental operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage incoming correspondence including letters, emails, and telephone calls, escalating key issues to the Manager as needed.
- Ensure all communications and documentation are handled confidentially and professionally at all times.
- Accurately input and maintain information using SharePoint, Microsoft Excel, and other business systems.
- Update line-of-business systems with case documents, notes, and relevant information to support effective case management.
- Provide flexible administrative support to other teams within the Compliance & Strategy service as required.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience in maintaining administrative systems and ensuring compliance with procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and SharePoint.
- High standards of confidentiality and data protection awareness.
- Ability to manage a busy workload and handle sensitive enquiries professionally.
- Excellent telephone manner and ability to handle a wide range of customer interactions.
