Planning Infrastructure Monitoring Assistant
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Basingstoke to assist with the appointment of a Planning Infrastructure Monitoring Assistant, on a 6.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £16.50 - £21.70 per hour
Summary:
The Planning Infrastructure Monitoring Assistant will assist in monitoring planning obligations, administering CIL processes, collecting infrastructure contributions, responding to stakeholder enquiries, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and Council policies.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the Section 106 scoping process by consulting stakeholders, recording responses, and working with planning and legal officers to secure timely agreements.
- Support the efficient monitoring and administration of Section 106 Agreements and the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).
- Assist the Planning Infrastructure Monitoring Officer with CIL administration and monitoring activities.
- Assess planning applications to determine Community Infrastructure Levy liabilities.
- Issue all statutory CIL notices as the Council's Collection Officer.
- Process CIL exemptions, apply surcharges and late payment interest in accordance with legislation and Council policy.
Qualification:
- Relevant qualification in Planning, Town Planning, Geography, Public Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent relevant experience.
Essentials:
- Experience working within a planning, infrastructure, local government, or administrative environment.
- Knowledge or understanding of Section 106 Agreements and the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).
- Ability to interpret legislation, policies, and planning-related procedures.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
