Accomodation Officer
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Newport to assist with the appointment of an Accomodation Officer, on a 2-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £15.33 - £19.99 per hour
Summary:
The Accomodation Officer will monitor occupancy, undertake property inspections, manage tenancy and licence-related issues, support homeless households, and ensure temporary accommodation is safe, suitable, and used appropriately. The role also includes face-to-face duty, tenancy management, safeguarding, and working collaboratively with internal and external partners.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out occupancy checks and property inspections across temporary accommodation.
- Monitor occupancy levels and investigate suspected breaches of occupancy agreements, tenancy conditions, or licence agreements.
- Issue occupancy warnings and other formal notices where appropriate.
- Support tenancy and licence management functions, ensuring accommodation is occupied appropriately.
- Maintain accurate case records, inspection reports, and tenancy documentation.
- Draft formal correspondence, warning notices, eviction-related documentation, and case reports.
Qualification:
- Relevant qualification in Housing, Homelessness, Social Care, Public Services, or equivalent relevant experience.
Essentials:
- Previous experience working within a housing, homelessness, temporary accommodation, or supported housing environment.
- Experience carrying out occupancy inspections and tenancy-related property visits.
- Experience managing accommodation, tenancy, licence, or housing-related casework.
- Strong administrative skills with experience preparing formal letters, warning notices, eviction-related documentation, case records, and reports.
- Experience supporting vulnerable individuals with complex needs.
