Job Description:
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Lincolnshire to assist with the appointment of an Assistant Finance Officer, on a 20-Days contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £12.21- £15.47 per hour
Summary:
The Assistant Finance Officer (CTL) will assist in the effective administration and financial management of Court of Protection and Appointeeship cases on behalf of Lincolnshire County Councils nominated Deputy or Appointee.
The postholder will manage an allocated caseload, ensuring that clients finances are properly maintained, benefits and entitlements are correctly claimed, and all transactions are processed accurately and in line with statutory requirements and Council policies.
This role is essential in ensuring the financial wellbeing of vulnerable adults who lack capacity to manage their own affairs, maintaining high standards of confidentiality, accuracy, and client care.
Responsibilities:
- Manage an allocated caseload from initial referral through to ongoing day-to-day financial administration.
- Administer financial matters for individuals under Court of Protection or Appointeeship, ensuring compliance with legal and procedural requirements.
- Reconcile and maintain client bank accounts on the case management system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure all income, including benefits and pensions, is correctly claimed and recorded, seeking advice when required.
- Process payments of liabilities and expenses, ensuring prompt and accurate transactions through online banking or cheque.
Qualifications:
- 5 GCSEs (AC) or equivalent, including English and Maths.
- Basic financial or administrative qualification (e.g., AAT Level 2, NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration, or equivalent experience).
- Experience in a finance or administrative role, ideally involving case management or client accounts.
- Proven ability to process financial transactions accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
- Experience reconciling accounts and handling financial data securely.
- Experience handling sensitive or confidential information.
