Reablement Enabler
Job Description:
We are working closely alongside with local authority in Islington to assist with the appointment of a Reablement Enabler on a 2.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Summary:
The Reablement Enabler is a permanent, full-time (35 hours) or job-share role within the Adult Social Care In-House Provider Services. Reporting to the Reablement Senior Enabler/Reablement Coordinator , the post holder is part of the Islington Reablement Service. The service aims to enable individuals to regain or maximise their independence through intensive, short-term support, promoting healthy independent lives for as long as possible in their own homes. This involves delivering personal care and support in an enabling, strengths-based, and person-centred way, connecting people with informal and community-based support. The service operates 365 days a year, from 8 am to 10 pm, with a future direction that may include overnight support as part of an Enhanced Reablement offer and requires flexible working over a 7-day week.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver personal care and support, which may include personal care tasks, domestic tasks, or exercise programs developed by therapists, to support agreed outcomes and rehabilitation/recovery at home
- Provide support with medication as detailed in the Support Plan and in accordance with NICE Guidelines (NG67) and the Medication Policy, with a focus on enabling independence in administration
- Safely move and handle people who have mobility difficulties, using specialist equipment in line with support plans.
- Enable people to improve independence through assisting with home exercise programmes or mobility and skills practice in daily activities like meal preparation and domestic tasks.
- Ensure that the Care Act 2014 is implemented in all aspects of the role
- Adhere to Islington Councils policy and procedures regarding the handling of a persons personal property, including money and keys
- Carry out duties in accordance with the Councils commitment to customer service excellence and the Dignity for All Policy (Equal Opportunities Policy)
Essentials:
- Level 2 NVQ or QCF Level 3.
- Experience of working for Adult Social Care or an equivalent agency providing domiciliary personal care.
- Experience of working with adults within a Reablement setting is preferred.
- Awareness of health and social care legislation, including the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2007.
- Awareness of statutory requirements relating to regulated services and CQC standards.
