We are seeking a Credit Controller with experience in professional services to support a fast-paced, collaborative finance function. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fantastic organisation and play a key role in managing client accounts and improving cash flow performance.

Role Overview

As a Credit Controller, you will manage a portfolio of client accounts, drive timely debt collection, and build strong working relationships across the business. Youll use your communication skills, attention to detail, and proactive approach to minimise bad debt risk and support the firms commercial goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of client accounts and ensure prompt invoice collection.
  • Proactively chase overdue invoices via phone, email, and written communication.
  • Analyse aged debt reports and prioritise cash collection while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Work closely with Partners, Fee Earners, and internal teams to resolve client queries.
  • Escalate risk concerns and support decisions on credit restrictions and next steps.
  • Produce monthly debtor reports, client statements, and attend aged debt review meetings.
  • Support treasury with cash allocation and related queries.
  • Deliver on monthly cash collection targets and reduce DSO.
  • Maintain accurate sales ledger and client records in line with data protection requirements.
  • Conduct credit checks and support credit risk management for new and existing clients.
  • Assist with handling collection issues, including compromise settlements and legal actions.
  • Collaborate with finance and business teams to ensure high-quality internal and external service.

Experience & Technical Skills

  • 1-2 years of credit control experience within a professional services environment.
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Word and Excel.
