Having established a strong reputation for delivering adaptable solutions and fostering lasting client relationships, they are looking to add a motivated Survey Crew Chief to the team.
As Crew Chief, you will direct a field crew performing boundary, topographic, construction layout, ALTA/NSPS, and FEMA elevation surveys. Your role includes coordinating with office staff, ensuring accurate data collection, and representing Wallace Surveying professionally on-site.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a 23 person field crew conducting land surveys across Palm Beach County
- Interpret plans and legal documents to ensure accurate fieldwork
- Operate and troubleshoot survey equipment (total stations, GPS, data collectors)
- Maintain safety, efficiency, and accuracy on-site
- Communicate with managers, clients, and contractors
- Record detailed field notes and sketches for CAD processing
- Ensure compliance with Florida surveying standards
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of land surveying experience, including 2+ years as a Crew Chief
- Familiar with Palm Beach County regulations and conditions
- Proficient with Carlson/Trimble equipment
- Valid drivers license and clean record
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in various conditions
- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is a plus
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary from $57,000 - $68,000 depending on experience
