Survey Crew Chief

Our client is a well-established, 4th-generation Land Surveying firm renowned for its precision, innovation, and legacy of excellence. With deep industry roots and a forward-thinking approach, they specialize in utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as GPS, electronic total stations, and advanced CADD mapping software to deliver high-quality, on-time surveying services.

Having established a strong reputation for delivering adaptable solutions and fostering lasting client relationships, they are looking to add a motivated Survey Crew Chief to the team.

As Crew Chief, you will direct a field crew performing boundary, topographic, construction layout, ALTA/NSPS, and FEMA elevation surveys. Your role includes coordinating with office staff, ensuring accurate data collection, and representing Wallace Surveying professionally on-site.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a 23 person field crew conducting land surveys across Palm Beach County
• Interpret plans and legal documents to ensure accurate fieldwork
• Operate and troubleshoot survey equipment (total stations, GPS, data collectors)
• Maintain safety, efficiency, and accuracy on-site
• Communicate with managers, clients, and contractors
• Record detailed field notes and sketches for CAD processing
• Ensure compliance with Florida surveying standards

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of land surveying experience, including 2+ years as a Crew Chief
• Familiar with Palm Beach County regulations and conditions
• Proficient with Carlson/Trimble equipment
• Valid drivers license and clean record
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working outdoors in various conditions
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is a plus

• Salary from $57,000 - $68,000 depending on experience
