The Role

We are looking for an experienced Production Project Manager with a strong background in upholstered furniture manufacturing to oversee projects from production planning through to completion and dispatch.

You will work closely with factory management, production and planning teams across manufacturing facilities in Poland, acting as the key link with the UK team to ensure projects are delivered on time, to specification and to the required quality standards.

This is a hands-on role requiring someone who understands the complete upholstered furniture manufacturing process and is comfortable working directly within a factory environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage allocated production projects from planning through to completion and dispatch.
  • Review project specifications, drawings and production requirements and ensure these are clearly understood by the factory.
  • Work with production and planning teams to agree and monitor schedules, priorities and deadlines.
  • Track projects throughout the manufacturing process and identify potential delays, capacity or material issues before they impact delivery.
  • Coordinate materials, labour and production requirements across projects.
  • Act as the key communication link between the Polish manufacturing facilities and UK team, providing clear updates on progress, risks and delivery dates.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and work with factory teams to implement practical solutions.
  • Oversee quality, finishing, packing, labelling and loading prior to dispatch.
  • Carry out quality inspections and ensure products meet specifications and client requirements.
  • Investigate quality issues and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve production methods, workflow, efficiency and quality.

Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience in upholstered furniture manufacturing is essential.
  • Strong practical knowledge of the complete upholstered furniture manufacturing process, including materials, production planning, manufacture, finishing, quality control, packing and dispatch.
  • Experience in production management, production coordination, project management or a similar manufacturing role.
  • Proven experience coordinating multiple production projects, orders or workstreams within a factory environment.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, workflow, capacity and manufacturing deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret product specifications, drawings and client requirements and translate them into practical production requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with experience identifying production risks, delays and quality issues and implementing solutions.
  • Good understanding of quality control and workmanship standards within upholstered furniture manufacturing.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Confident working with factory managers and production teams and able to challenge constructively when standards or deadlines are not being met.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate progress, risks and issues to UK stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently, take ownership and drive issues through to resolution.
  • Basic to good English language skills.
  • Willingness to travel between manufacturing facilities in Poland and to the UK when required.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be a hands-on production professional who understands upholstered furniture manufacturing from start to finish. You will be organised, commercially aware and comfortable working directly with factory teams to solve problems, manage deadlines and maintain quality standards.

If you have the technical manufacturing knowledge and project management experience to take ownership of production projects and ensure they are delivered successfully, we would like to hear from you.

The key requirement I would keep prominent in every version of the advert is the upholstered furniture manufacturing experience, as the original JD identifies this as essential.

Salary £40,000/PLN204,000 gross per annum.
