Currently, we are looking for an ambitious Head of Legal & Compliance to join our team.

Role overview

The Head of Legal & Compliance will be responsible for overseeing all legal, regulatory, compliance, AML, and integrity matters related to the company's gaming and betting operations in Mexico. The role requires strong knowledge of the Mexican gambling regulatory framework, risk management, AML/KYC obligations, and operational compliance within the iGaming and betting industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain the company's compliance framework for gaming and betting operations in Mexico.
  
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments applicable to the gambling industry and ensure timely implementation of regulatory changes.
• Act as the primary point of contact for regulators, auditors, external legal counsel, and compliance-related stakeholders.
  
• Coordinate licensing, regulatory reporting, inspections, and responses to regulatory requests and inquiries.
• Supervise AML/KYC, enhanced due diligence (EDD), sanctions screening, fraud prevention, and responsible gaming controls.
  
• Review high-risk customers, suspicious activities, and oversee regulatory filings and investigations where required.
  
• Conduct internal compliance risk assessments and implement remediation measures where necessary.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements, supplier contracts, affiliate agreements, and internal corporate documentation.
• Oversee all legal matters affecting the business, including corporate governance, commercial, labor, litigation, and regulatory matters.
  
• Review and approve bonuses, promotions, marketing campaigns, and customer-facing communications from a legal and compliance perspective.
• Ensure compliance controls are properly integrated into operational, payment, product, and marketing processes.
  
• Coordinate with Product, IT, Operations, Payments, and external vendors regarding regulatory implementation projects and compliance requirements.
• Develop, update, and maintain internal policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
  
• Conduct compliance monitoring activities, internal reviews, and support internal/external audits.
• Deliver compliance, AML, Code of Conduct, and responsible gaming training to employees and third parties.
  
• Promote a strong compliance and integrity culture across the organization.
• Support strategic expansion and operational initiatives from a legal and regulatory perspective within the Mexican gaming market.

Requirements

• Previous experience in legal and compliance roles within the gaming, betting, fintech, or regulated industries.
• Strong understanding of Mexican gambling regulations, AML requirements, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience working with regulators, auditors, and external legal advisors.
  
• Knowledge of AML/KYC, fraud prevention, responsible gaming, and regulatory reporting obligations.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  
• Ability to manage multiple regulatory and operational projects simultaneously.
• Professional level of English and Spanish preferred.
