Procurement & Vendor Manager

 Job Description:

Scaling procurement capability inside a complex, multi-brand retail business requires commercial maturity, negotiation confidence and leadership leverage.

Were recruiting a Procurement & Vendor Manager on behalf of a major ANZ retail and wholesale group operating across multiple brands.

This is a senior leadership role within Merchandise Services, reporting to the GM – Procurement & Brand Optimisation.

This role is focused purely on direct product procurement.
It is not an indirect procurement position.

What Youll Own:

>Direct Product Commercial Negotiation
Lead cost, rebate, freight and commercial term negotiations across a broad supplier base, partnering with Merchandise on key suppliers.

>Working Capital Contribution
Support supplier payment term optimisation and broader commercial restructuring initiatives.

>Vendor Governance & Performance
Implement structured supplier scorecards, onboarding governance and disciplined commercial review cadence.

>Structured Tender Management
Formalise contract lifecycle and tender governance processes, with a dedicated tender lead joining the team.

>Compliance & Risk Oversight
Oversee product compliance registers, recalls, factory audits and ESG alignment.

>Team Leadership
Lead and uplift a multi-disciplinary procurement team, strengthening accountability, delegation and performance standards.

Ideal Background:

-Direct product procurement within Retail, FMCG, Consumer Goods or -Automotive Aftermarket
-Experience negotiating with branded suppliers
-Exposure to working capital or commercial restructuring initiatives
-Experience operating in multi-brand or complex trading environments
-Demonstrated team leadership and capability uplift

This role is not suited to indirect-only procurement profiles or industrial manufacturing procurement backgrounds.
