 Job Description:

Scaling a complex food business inside a major retail-backed ecosystem requires disciplined, commercially sharp supply leadership.

Were recruiting a Head of Supply Chain on behalf of a growth-focused Online Meals business backed by a large Australian retail parent.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for the full end-to-end supply function outside of production operations.

The environment is high complexity:

  • 500+ ingredient and packaging SKUs
  • Frequent menu changes
  • Short shelf-life inputs
  • Tight integration with a national online retail platform
  • You will shape the supply roadmap while remaining close to supplier negotiations, forecasting cycles, ERP governance and 3PL performance.

About the role:

This position sits at the intersection of Commercial, Operations and Systems.

It owns sourcing strategy, supplier partnerships and COGS performance, alongside supply planning, ERP and master data governance, supply analytics, and 3PL management.

As the business scales, supply capability becomes a direct lever for margin discipline, waste reduction, resilience and customer experience.

What youll own:

  • End-to-end sourcing strategy across ingredients, packaging and ready-to-heat products
  • Supplier negotiation, onboarding, contracts and performance reviews
  • COGS optimisation and supplier resilience across a 500+ SKU portfolio
  • Forecasting and planning governance tailored to meal kit complexity
  • Inventory optimisation, substitution management and waste control
  • Microsoft Business Central configuration, MRP oversight and master data integrity
  • Supply analytics and performance reporting across cost, service and inventory
  • 3PL relationship management including DIFOT, SLA performance and freight optimisation
  • Cross-functional integration across Culinary, Commercial, Operations, Technology and Finance
  • Supply workstreams supporting online channel integration

The profile were seeking:

  • Senior supply chain leadership experience in FMCG, retail or food
  • Strong procurement background with demonstrated COGS improvement outcomes
  • Experience operating in high-SKU, demand-variable environments
  • ERP fluency, ideally Microsoft Business Central
  • Strong planning discipline and analytical capability
  • 3PL performance management experience
  • Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on
  • Experience within fresh food or meal kit categories will be highly regarded.
