AOS - AFE Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Specialist
Job Description:
A growing Melbourne-based recruitment business is looking for a Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Specialist to support recruitment delivery and operational workflows.
This role sits at the centre of the recruitment process - helping source great educators, manage candidate pipelines, coordinate compliance documentation, and keep recruitment systems organised and accurate.
You will work closely with the Founder, supporting the operational side of recruitment so they can focus on school partnerships, interviews and placements.
This is the first operational hire in the business, making it an important role with real scope to grow as the company expands.
What You'll Be Doing
Talent Sourcing & Candidate Pipelines
- Identify educators across Australia using LinkedIn, job boards, Facebook communities and internal databases
- Build structured talent pools for teaching and education support roles
- Maintain organised candidate pipelines across multiple roles
Candidate Screening
- Conduct initial candidate screening conversations
- Assess teaching background, qualifications and subject specialisations
Understand location preferences and visa or migration considerations
Compliance & Candidate Documentation
- Coordinate required candidate documentation and compliance checks
- Collect identification, registration records and employment history evidence
- Ensure candidate files are complete before progressing through the recruitment process
Candidate Experience
- Maintain professional communication with candidates throughout the recruitment journey
- Coordinate interviews and follow up on documentation requirements
- Ensure candidate notes and communication are accurately recorded in the system
Recruitment Operations
- Maintain structured workflows within the ATS platform (JobAdder)
- Format resumes and prepare candidate submissions
- Schedule interviews and update candidate records
Database & Market Research
- Maintain clean and organised recruitment records
- Support market mapping by researching schools and leadership teams across Victoria
- Assist with outreach campaigns and recruitment marketing activities
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting recruitment, talent acquisition, or candidate coordination
- Confidence conducting candidate screening conversations
- Strong organisation and workflow management skills
- High attention to detail and disciplined record keeping
- Experience using an ATS or CRM (JobAdder or similar preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal English communication
Bonus if you have:
- Experience in education or healthcare recruitment
- Exposure to international candidate documentation
- Basic Canva or recruitment marketing support skills
- Familiarity with AI tools used to support sourcing or recruitment workflows
