About the Role

The Facilities & Infrastructure Manager is responsible for the deployment, reliability, and compliance of the battery swap station network. The role oversees the full infrastructure lifecycle—from site feasibility and electrical design to installation, maintenance, and uptime optimization—ensuring safe, compliant, and highly available charging infrastructure that supports continuous operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure Deployment & Project Execution

  • Conduct site feasibility studies, assessing power availability, load capacity, and civil requirements
  • Develop electrical designs, including load calculations, protection systems, and layouts
  • Manage contractors for civil and electrical works, ensuring quality, safety, and timelines
  • Liaise with utilities and regulatory bodies for approvals, connections, and issue resolution

2. Maintenance & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure high infrastructure uptime through effective reactive maintenance and SLA management
  • Design and implement preventive maintenance programs to mitigate risks
  • Maintain facilities to required standards and ensure timely repairs
  • Oversee safety and compliance, acting as Engineer-in-Charge for installations and modifications

3. Team Leadership

  • Lead and prioritize work for technicians and junior engineers
  • Build team capability through training, coaching, and safety briefings
  • Manage inventory and critical spare parts to ensure operational continuity

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Registration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK)
  • Valid EPRA License (minimum Class C1; Class A1 or B preferred)
  • At least 5 years' experience in electrical project delivery and maintenance
  • Experience in power distribution, industrial facilities, EV charging, or similar infrastructure
  • Proven experience working with utility processes within the Nairobi grid
  • Strong understanding of power quality issues (surges, brownouts)
  • Proficiency in MS Office for planning and reporting
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Resilient, solution-oriented mindset in complex environments
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
