About the job Datacenter Engineer
Role Summary
We are looking for an L2 Datacenter Engineer for hands-on operation of enterprise data-centre facilities —
including server installation, structured cabling, capacity management, and physical / environmental health.
Key Responsibilities
- Rack, stack, and decommission servers, storage, and network gear.
- Manage structured cabling: copper + fibre, patching, labelling, audit.
- Operate KVM/OOB and remote-hands tasks for engineering teams.
- Track DCIM data: capacity, power draw, cooling, asset placement.
- Coordinate hardware deliveries, RMA returns, and warranty support.
- Perform routine inspections (PUE, power, cooling, fire suppression).
- Support migration / refresh projects with detailed run-sheets.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's in IT / Electronics / equivalent.
- 4+ years in data-centre operations.
- Hands-on with rack/stack, structured cabling (TIA-568), and labelling standards.
- Familiarity with at least one major server line (HPE ProLiant, Dell PowerEdge, Cisco UCS).
- Awareness of DC standards (TIA-942, Uptime Tier topology).
- Comfortable with shift-on-call and site work.
- Professional English — mandatory.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Working knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
- CDCP (Certified Data Centre Professional) or BICSI certifications.
- Familiarity with DCIM tools (Sunbird, Schneider EcoStruxure, Nlyte).
- Storage/SAN basics (Brocade/Cisco MDS).
