About the job IT Project Manager (Doha, Qatar, Onsite)
Role Summary
We are hiring an IT Project Manager to lead IT projects within the client's Information Systems Department — system implementations, upgrades, integrations, and infrastructure refresh programs. The role owns end-to-end delivery from initiation to closure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end IT project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, closure.
- Own project schedule, scope, cost, quality, and risk with rigorous baseline management.
- Lead stakeholder engagement at director and section-head level.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (infrastructure, applications, security, vendors).
- Manage vendor performance, milestone acceptance, and contractual deliverables.
- Maintain risk and issue logs; drive mitigation and resolution.
- Track project budget, forecast, and actuals; report variance.
- Produce weekly status reports, steering committee packs, and executive summaries.
- Govern change requests against approved baselines.
- Interface with the client PMO and ensure adherence to organisational standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 8+ years' experience in IT project management with at least 4 in the GCC region.
- PMP certification — mandatory.
- Demonstrated track record managing IT projects with budgets above QAR 5M.
- Strong commercial acumen — vendor management, contract administration, financial controls.
- Proficient with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, Jira).
- Native or fluent Arabic AND professional English — preferred (not mandatory).
Preferred / Nice to Have
- PRINCE2 Practitioner.
- ITIL v4 Foundation.
- Agile certifications (PSM, SAFe).
- Prior experience delivering IT projects within Qatar government entities.
- Public sector procurement / tendering familiarity.
