Linux Patching Engineer

Role Summary

We are looking for an L2 Linux Patching Engineer to plan, automate, and execute patching cycles across

enterprise Linux estates (RHEL, Oracle Linux, Ubuntu, SUSE) on physical, virtual, and cloud workloads.

## Key Responsibilities

- Plan monthly patching for RHEL / OEL / Ubuntu / SUSE in dev prod waves.

- Operate patching automation: Ansible, Red Hat Satellite, SUSE Manager, Spacewalk.

- Coordinate maintenance windows, change requests, and rollback plans.

- Drive vulnerability remediation against scanner findings.

- Investigate post-patch issues; triage with application teams.

- Maintain patch repositories and mirror health.

- Document patching runbooks and patching calendars.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent.

- 4+ years in Linux patch management at enterprise scale.

- Strong with RHEL + at least one of: Ubuntu, OEL, SUSE.

- Hands-on with Ansible (or Satellite / Spacewalk / SUSE Manager).

- Bash scripting; familiarity with one of Python / Go for tooling.

- Familiarity with vulnerability scanners and CVSS prioritisation.

- Professional English — mandatory.

Preferred / Nice to Have

- Working knowledge of Arabic is a plus.

- RHCSA / RHCE certifications.

- Cloud-instance patching (AWS Systems Manager, Azure Update Management).
