Senior IOT Expert (Doha, Qatar, Onsite)

Role Summary

We are hiring a Senior IoT Expert to design, deploy, and operate IoT infrastructure across a large public-sector smart-infrastructure estate. The role covers IoT platform architecture, edge devices, connectivity, security, data ingestion pipelines, and integration with enterprise applications and BI/analytics.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead IoT platform architecture across cloud (Azure IoT Hub, AWS IoT Core) and / or industrial (Siemens MindSphere, GE Predix) ecosystems.

- Govern edge-device fleet management, provisioning, and OTA updates.

- Own IoT security architecture — device identity, certificates, network segmentation, secure boot.

- Architect and operate data ingestion pipelines from IoT edge to enterprise data platforms.

- Integrate IoT data with BI / analytics platforms and enterprise applications.

- Govern connectivity strategy — Lthe clientN (LoRaWAN, NB-IoT), 4G/5G, fibre.

- Lead IoT vendor management — devices, gateways, platform licensing.

- Drive integration with operational technology (OT) systems where applicable (SCADA, BMS).

- Author IoT runbooks, incident response procedures, and operational SOPs.

- Mentor junior IoT engineers and provide thought leadership in the client's smart-infrastructure roadmap.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or Telecommunications Engineering; Master's preferred.

- 8+ years' experience in IoT engineering with at least 4 at senior or expert level.

- Hands-on with at least one major IoT platform (Azure IoT, AWS IoT, Siemens MindSphere, IBM Watson IoT).

- Strong working knowledge of Lthe clientN technologies (LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, Sigfox), MQTT, AMQP, CoAP.

- IoT security depth — device identity, PKI, network segmentation, secure firmware update.

- Edge computing experience (AWS Greengrass, Azure IoT Edge, Linux-based gateways).

- Native or fluent Arabic AND professional English — preferred (not mandatory).

## Preferred / Nice to Have

- Vendor IoT certifications (Microsoft Certified: Azure IoT Developer Specialty, AWS IoT specialty).

- Industrial IoT exposure — SCADA, OPC-UA, OT/IT convergence.

- Data engineering depth — Kafka, Spark Streaming, time-series databases (InfluxDB, TimescaleDB).

- Smart-city or smart-building project experience.

- Familiarity with Qatar Smart Programmes (Tasmu).
