About the job IV,V Engineer (NV1 Defence)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and co-ordinate the JP9101 V&V and TEMP in support of acquisition.
  • Provide governance that JP9101 IV&V and Test and Evaluation Programs objectives are met through the acquisition process.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain the JP9101 Engineering Documentation suite.
  • Provision formal Engineering advice regarding project engineering activities, across all relevant contracts.
  • Exercise appropriate Engineering Delegation as issued by the Chief Engineer IC3SPO; update and maintain technical risks for JP9101.
  • Assist the JP9101 Engineering Team in any Engineering activities and facilitate the ongoing professional development of team members.
  • Collaborate with the wider JP9101 Project Team to provide Engineering input across all discipline streams.
  • Review and provide engineering feedback on contract deliverables to support the implementation of the EDHFCS solution.
  • Collaborate with the JP9101 Engineering Team, organising and coordinating workshops.
  • Maintain compliance of JP9101 Engineering process with IC3SPO QMS.
  • Conduct tasks as required by the EL1 Engineering Manager JP9101 and Deputy Engineering Manager JP9101 L3.

About You:

  • Be a Chartered Professional Engineer of a registered Professional. Engineering Body (such as Engineers Australia) equivalent or be able to attain chartered status.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in the One Defence Capability System (ODCS).
  • Tertiary qualifications in Systems Engineering, or other equivalent experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in leadership and management roles, and an ability to coach and guide teams in the implementation of strategy and change.
  • ASDEFCON Suite Experience.
  • Experience in Capability Projects in the Defence and/or Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) environment.
  • Understanding of technical, logistical, and operational requirements in the delivery of capability, and knowledge of applicable Defence policy and legislation.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams of diverse technical specialisations.
