About The Role:

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing and delivering LC4 systems integration on various Australian Army and/or Naval platforms. The Mechanical Engineer is accountable to the Principle Engineer within LC4S Branch.

The position will also be responsible for auditing several existing platform configurations, applying sound engineering and platform design standards to support PDR (Preliminary Design Review) and DDR (Detailed Design Review) Certification and the conduct of Systems Safety Reviews and Working Groups to support technical certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct design and implementation.
  • Conduct Verification & Validation (V&V).
  • Conduct certification and support.
  • Conduct planning and the delivery of engineering services, regulatory compliance, resource management and project outcomes.
  • Conduct reviews of contract deliverables [HEM11].

About You:

  • A qualified practitioner with higher degree qualifications or relevant industry experience of more than 8 years.
  • Previous Defence experience is highly desirable.
  • Extensive industry and specialty experience in Electrical / Power engineering.
  • Experience with RF environments and wireless communications in contested communications or electronic warfare domains.
  • Experience in digital communications protocols and signal conversion
    techniques.
  • Experience driving processes and process improvements, including continuous improvement methodologies.
  • NV1 Security Clearance Required
