About The Role:

The Engineering Lead is responsible for lifecycle engineering activities within the product line, including requirements, solutions analysis, architecture, design, build, and test, enhancements, and obsolescence/defects management.

The Engineering Lead will support the Product Manager and Deputy Product Manager, through estimation and programming of technical work within the Product Line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct work in accordance with the engineering management system.
  • Working with the DCR Product Manager and key stakeholders, shape the direction of the DCR system development.
  • Lead a technical team to coordinate the elicitation of requirements, design and development of DCR through the Defence Capability Life Cycle and the AGILE system development framework.
  • Lead a technical team to design and integrate DCR with nominated external systems.
  • Communicate complex technical and operational issues into readily understandable concepts.
  • Conduct Engineering Reviews of developed artefacts according to the project Engineering Management System and assigned Engineering Authority delegation.
  • Provide peer review of technical and programmatic documentation.
  • Manage Engineering Change Proposals associated with the Product.
  • Providing guidance to future tranche/project planning activities.
  • Identify and develop improvements to workplace processes related to areas of duty.
  • Participate in selection and hiring of Product Line staff.
  • Create and assist others to author User Stories for the Product.
  • Triage user stories, defects and other Product Line tasks.
  • Contribute to creation, maintenance and reporting of a Product Line schedule.
  • Contribute technical inputs to planning and execution of product demonstration events.
  • Contribute to and review product-related documents.
  • Participate in and contribute technical inputs to cyber range related meetings with FVEY nations. This will require out-of-hours dial-ins.
  • Work with the COSPO Cyber Security Manager to appropriately respond to relevant security breaches, investigate how they occurred, identify lessons learned and implement remediation actions.
  • Contribute to accurate and timely completion of product line reporting, ensuring accountability, traceability and compliance.
  • Build and sustain productive relationships with team members, staff and supervisors, and actively participate in teamwork and group activities.
  • Contribute to the COSPO Engineering Management System
