About The Role:

The Inventory Manager delivers Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to projects and products across the SPO, and ensures the efficient, effective and professional delivery of logistics outcomes and associated FICs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and lead key Defence Logistics management functions, including the establishment of Unit Entitlements, Supply Customer Account (SCA) management, Bill of Materials (BOM) and Complete Equipment Schedules (CES) management, and updates Asset Management Data to reflect physical fitment or modifications [SGM11].
  • Lead logistics support activities for Projects transitioning into service, including calculation and procurement of initial provisioning, preparing Vehicle Installation Kits, contributing to engineering Technical Certification activities and adjusting entitlements.
  • Coordinate and support core supply chain and inventory management activities, including procurements, and movement of stock.
  • Conduct development and updates to plans, documents and technical instructions such as the ILS Management Plan, Obsolescence Management Plans, and technical data packs and manuals in support of roll- out/installations and transition.
  • Undertake or facilitate the necessary logistics and in-service engagement with other DLMs, Stock Item Owners, SPOs, JLU, and Defence organisations.
  • Apply SME knowledge and experience to identify risks and uncertainties and take these into account in planning, decision making and priority setting, including the coordination of Vehicle Installation Kit (VIK) rollout for capability uplifts.
  • Undertake or provide support to the codification and cataloguing of Not-in- Catalogue (NIC) items to support integration and in-service requirements, and in compliance with Defence logistics policy.
  • Manage inventory and associated Logistics Information Systems and conduct governance and assurance functions to ensure that their use is in accordance with the relevant policy and processes.

About You:

  • A qualified practitioner with a recognised Australian Qualifications
    Framework (AQF) Level 6 qualification in a relevant domain, or relevant industry experience of more than 8 years.
  • Knowledge and experience with inventory management and Logistics
    Information Systems, including Military Integrated Logistics Information System (MILIS), and/or Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) / Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems[HEM11].
  • Knowledge in the logistics handling of Cryptographic equipment and custodianship. [SGM12]
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management principles within a Defence context
  • Extensive industry and specialty experience in Inventory Control.
  • Defence and/or CASG materiel logistics experience (Acquisition and/or Sustainment).
  • Experience in codification and cataloguing of Items of Supply (IoS).
  • Experience in governance and asset assurance, stocktaking, and disposals.
  • Experience in adjusting entitlements using Materiel Entitlements Management System (MEMS) or the Equipment Entitlement Variation (EEV) process.
