About the Role:

  • As a member of Land 4140 program, in the role of T&E/V&V Lead, you will use your experience, and in-depth knowledge of best practice in the area of systems-based test and evaluation to ensure the delivery of fit for purpose, safe and environmentally compliant systems to the ADF.
  • Role requires previous CASG experience and familiarity with the Capability Acquisition process, contracting inside the Defence enterprise and intimate knowledge of the One Defence Capability System (ODCS) lifecycle.
  • Previous experience in large Defence capital acquisition projects and a thorough understanding of Defence engineering policies, processes and plans. As well as the ability to work under limited direction to perform and achieve complex systems engineering work within an integrated team.
  • Initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures.
  • Requires the provision of detailed systems engineering technical and professional advice for T&E/V&E activities.
  • WFH one day a week

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring engineering deliverables meet contracted, legislative and policy requirements.
  • Delivering project outcomes that comply with relevant legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks and Defence quality and configuration management systems.
  • Working collaboratively, developing and maintaining beneficial, effective relationships with the customer, colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Adopting appropriate T&E/V&V strategies and plans that integrate with the project approach in order to test, verify and validate system capability.
  • Developing, Reviewing and co-ordinating T&E/V&V engineering work packages in support of each of the project tranches as directed by the Engineering Manager, Project Manager or Project Director.
  • Witnessing vendor testing of a technical nature across a broad range of engineering disciplines on behalf of the Commonwealth representative.
  • Participating in systems engineering configuration audits, reporting on test outcomes and system specification compliance.
  • Management of test failure documentation, resolutions and deviations.
  • Participating in systems engineering reviews and providing advice in areas relating to testing; and Providing advice to the Quality Assurance Representative during system production, in relation to production acceptance testing.

Highly Desirable Experience and / or Qualifications:

  • Experience as a T&E/V&V Lead or Manager within CASG or a similar acquisition environment.
  • T&E/V&V experience with networking, computers, software, radios, operating systems and the enabling services and infrastructure that applies testing and evaluation techniques across the system development life cycle.
  • Knowledge and experience in the T&E/V&V of ICT, engineering, cyber-security and ILS processes and procedures in accordance with industry and Defence policy, standards and recognised best practices including test planning, conduct and automation.
  • Initiative, creativity and responsibility in performing a range and variety of complex technical work activities with limited guidance.
  • Experience with systems and software safety
