About The Role:
The Systems Engineer Role will be accountable to the CA31 Systems Engineering Manager, reporting to CA31-BCS Corrective Action Lead within the LC4SB Sustainment SPO for engineering activities relating to remediation of Land Materiel Safety (LMS) assurance audit corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform critical and complex engineering activities and provide advice in the field of systems engineering under broad direction.
- Accountable for exercising assigned engineering authorities and any Technical Regulatory Authority delegations.
- Apply engineering knowledge and experience to identify risks and uncertainties and take these into account in planning, decision making and priority setting.
- Demonstrate systems engineering knowledge and provide advice and recommendations on the development of advancements to established engineering principles, techniques, methods and regulations.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with team members, actively participate in team work and motivate and mentor developing engineers.
- Tailor communication style and language to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assess technical and design packages including scoping, planning, reviewing, provide recommendations and contribute to the implementation of actions.
- Evaluate that the delivered materiel meets the endorsed requirements and legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks, provide recommendations and contribute to the implementation of actions.
- Monitor and ensure safety aspects of Defence materiel systems are considered and incorporated into communication engineering activities.
- Manage workflows, resources, prepare work area and team plans detailing measurable milestones and expected outcomes.
About You:
- Development of Safety Case and Technical Certification Reports and packages for Capability Manager Signature
- An understanding and experience of the Capability Life Cycle (CLC).
- A clear understanding of Configuration Management.
- Experience with developing and managing Hazard logs and Safety Case Reports.
- Experience with ASDEFCON deliverables.
- Experience managing external suppliers and stakeholders.
- Experience reporting to senior stakeholders (Director level and above).
- At least 8 years experience delivering engineering outcomes in a defence environment.
- Previous ADF tactical communications and/or COMSEC experience
- Experience with developing and managing Engineering Changes
- Experience with Previous experience using ERP
- Chartered Professional Engineer (Engineers Australia) who is on the National Engineering Register
