Finance Officer (NV1 Defence)

About The Role:

SSB Exec team are seeking a surge resource to assist with the Defence Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool and in particular financial processing and reporting. Client is seeking a candidate with an active profile in SAP and experience in finance e.g. paying invoices, preparing reports etc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accountable to deliver complex financial statements management and accounting activities, including balance sheet management and financial statements analysis and reporting.
  
• Prepare and provide advice on complex accounting, financial preparation and reporting policy to stakeholders.
  
• Apply knowledge and experience in accounting to undertake objective, systematic financial analysis and can draw accurate conclusions based on evidence.
  
• Advise on the application of accounting legislation and Defence policies and procedures.
  
• Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and stakeholders and actively participate in teamwork and group activities.
  
• Work collaboratively and persuasively with stakeholders to produce complex financial reports, briefs and submissions to achieve Defence outcomes.
  
• Resolve problems using expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action.
  
• Evaluate and interrogate financial data to ensure the accuracy of financial information in reports and systems.
  
• Assess and conduct quality assurance checks on Defence accounting processes.
  
• Negotiate sensitive accounting issues with stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  
• Analyse, report, advise and communicate financial information specific to the business area.
  
• Ability to raise, maintain and pay purchase orders through ERP.
