Responsibilities:

  • Funding and budget policies. Evaluate special budget requests from internal units or support to government agencies in partnership projects
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop policy alignment
  • Review economic policies, policy variations/updates and research plans in line with overall strategic outcomes
  • Progression policies for the engagement and development of workers in the space of women & family, young workers, future workforce
  • Placement of both union members and non-unionized workers
  • Assess and identify areas for strategic policy reviews, determine review scope and supervise the conduct of reviews
  • Shape or conduct studies to deepen understanding of manpower issues and gain insights on initiatives and strategies effectiveness
  • Review and analyze data on economic policies. To develop analytical pieces to inform on policy thinking

Requirements:

  • Strong interest in and understanding of Singapore's socio-economic policy landscape, and passionate about making a difference in uplifting peoples lives as Singapore develops into a modern society
  • Experienced policy advocate in developing, implementing and tracking the success of economic programmes and advocacy work
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal communication, negotiation and people skills, able to develop strong relationships with stakeholders to shape outcomes for represented workers and provide guidance to the policy team
  • At least 5 years of experience managing a team
  • University degree in Political Science, Economics, Law or any other related fields
  • High level of leadership, initiative and drive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong planning, analytical and written skills, with an ability to analyse and explain issues to a wide variety of audiences
  • Skilled at people management; able to lead and develop a team to achieve outcomes
